Ayşe Nahide Yılmaz, Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi Felsefe Bölümü'nden 2001 yılında mezun oldu. Hacettepe Üniversitesi'nde Sanat Tarihi alanında yüksek lisans (2006) ve doktora (2014) derecelerini aldı.
Süreli yayınlarda makale ve çeviriler yayınladı; sergi katalogları için tanıtım metinleri yazdı; ulusal ve uluslararası kongre ve konferanslarda sunumlar yaptı. "1980 Sonrası Türkiye'de Sanat ve Siyaset" (2014), "Sanat Tarih Estetik" (2020), "Sanat ve Kavramlar" (Mehmet Yılmaz ile, 2023) adlı kitapları yazdı. "Radyatör" (2003) ve "Sunum Korkusu" (2006) adlı iki performans gerçekleştirdi; Mersin Üniversitesi'nde "Dışına Taşan Estetik" adlı sergiyi düzenledi (2006); 2007'de Gazi Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Sergisi'ne "-x" adlı karşı sergi ve 2008'de "Suç ve Ceza" adlı happening ile katıldı. Enstalasyonlarıyla bazı karma sergilere katıldı.
Mersin Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi'nde Estetik dersleri verdi (2003–2006). 2007-2015 yılları arasında Gazi Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi ve Mimarlık Fakültesi'nde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak çalıştı. Halen Düzce Üniversitesi Sanat Tasarım ve Mimarlık Fakültesi'nde Doç. Dr. olarak çeşitli teorik sanat dersleri vermekte ve hakemli akademik dergi Tykhe için baş editörlük görevini sürdürmektedir.

Ayşe Nahide Yılmaz graduated from Philosophy Department, Middle East Technical University (2001). She got M.S. (2006) and Ph.D. (2014) degrees in Art History, Hacettepe University.
She has published articles and translations on periodicals; wrote promotional texts on exhibition catalogues; had presentations on national and international congresses and conferences. She wrote the books The Politics and Art in Turkiye Since 1980 (2014), Art, History and Aesthetics (2020), Art and Concepts (with Mehmet Yılmaz, 2023). She is the chief editor of an academic art journal, Tykhe. She has executed two performances called “Radiator” (2003) and “The Fear of Presentation” (2006); organized the exhibition Aesthetics Overflowed at Mersin University (2006); participated Gazi University Fine Arts Faculty Exhibition with the counter exhibition “-x” in 2007 and with the happening “Crime and Punishment” in 2008. She has participated some group exhibitions with her installations.
She instructed Aesthetics courses at Fine Arts Faculty, Mersin University (2003–2006). She worked at Gazi University Fine Arts Faculty and Architecture Faculty as Research Assistant between 2007-2015. She still works as Assoc. Prof. at Düzce University, Faculty of Art Design and Architecture to teach various theoretical art courses.
